Recommended for women experiencing pelvic pain, heavy periods, or symptoms suggestive of endometriosis.
Our Endometriosis Ultrasound Scan is designed to assess the pelvic organs and identify ultrasound features that may be associated with endometriosis.
During the scan, a qualified sonographer will examine the uterus, ovaries, and surrounding pelvic structures to identify any abnormalities that may be linked to endometriosis or other pelvic conditions. The scan helps assess areas where endometrial tissue may be present outside the uterus and evaluate the overall health of the pelvic organs.
What to expect
- 20 minute appointment
- Detailed pelvic ultrasound scan
- Assessment of the uterus and endometrial lining
- Examination of the ovaries for cysts such as endometriomas
- Evaluation of the pelvic region for signs associated with endometriosis
- Opportunity to discuss findings during the appointment
- Digital ultrasound images and written report provided
This scan can help investigate symptoms such as pelvic pain, painful periods, pain during intercourse, unexplained infertility, or other ongoing gynaecological concerns.
Your scan will be performed by a qualified sonographer with experience in women’s health ultrasound. Our sonographers follow recognised ultrasound guidelines and clinical protocols.
If any unexpected findings are identified during the scan, we will explain what we can see based on the ultrasound at that time. A written report will be provided within 24 hours and, where appropriate, you may be advised to follow up with your GP or a specialist.
Please note that women’s health scans are often performed internally for greater clarity and accuracy, although external scanning may also be used depending on the clinical situation.
